Cottage Roll Call!

Loving my patio times! Back at it now that it is warming up. Molly looks like a puppy right here, but she's 7 now and enjoys being at my feet here on the patio or on the trail!

Snowflake will be 10 in September! I can't believe it! I love how she covers her nose!

Candycane will be 9 this Summer! I love how she always wraps her paws with her tail.

Can't wait for the climbing rose to bloom!

Yes, Golden Oasis is STILL around! My blog feels like a toy at the bottom of the toybox that has been forgotten about! So, HELLO to my 12 readers!
Today is a gloomy, cold, rainy day here in Co. Springs, CO. I'm doing some computer work and thought to take a break and tell you about it.....in my next post!
Oh, boy won't that put you on the edge of your seat!

"A List" from Dec 2019 never Published

1. Make those little watercolor squares of color and then 'art' from that. Inspiration saved on my Pintrest board.

DID ONE PROJECT 2. I have another canvas art mulling around in my head and sketch book. Need to go to Micheals to purchase the right sizes. ...and get it OUT of my head and sketch book!

HA! WAY PAST THIS 3. I have another piece in my head...scratched out on a small notepad. Something to do with what I learned this year. Taking the rose colored glasses off seeing how things really are...the good, bad, and the ugly  BUT you must pull out the positive.

COMPLETED 4. Rewrap my telephone line on the outside. (suggested by a centurylink tech) (current covering is cracked...just use electrical tape) ('my side' it would have cost me for him to do it)

COMPLETED MANY 5. Books, books, books.......READ them

HAVE GOTTEN RID OF SOME STUFF NEED TO DO MORE 6. Get in the habit of doing chores then setting time to read or pick back up a crocheting project that is sooooooo UFO that either you do them now (next yr) or just give them away. Time is now.

YES, CURRENTLY WORKING ON 7. Go through the Pinterest boards for duplicates and sort them. (whether you delete them or re-enjoy why you pinned them)

COMPLETED 8. Decides some things about Facebook....it's been 10 yrs for me. Pick out the positive and just drop the other that are distracting, not helpful, or just plain they never interact, so what's the point!

Not sure why I didn't publish this, but it's nice to see I've worked on a few things within this list!
I must strive for more!
So, WHY did Blogger get rid of the 'compose view' for editing widgets?? It's only in html to edit them. I did read online somewhere to edit a text widget- act like you're doing a post -make it the way you want and then 'view as html' and copy & paste it to a 'new' text widget. Works well just got to remember to delete the draft.
Also, do you think my font is too large or is it okay?  (you know, to my 3 people that read this blog...if that!) You ARE important despite my snarky comment! If you DO read it...could you leave me a comment? Even if it's just one word, "HERE"! Like a rollcall of sorts!

Autumn Slowness

Quiet times at the cottage. I love this time of year! It's been a good year...lots done. Visits- Grandchild #2 last month. Grandchild #1 next month. Life is good.
I love capturing that simplistic moment...after having mid to high 80's (yuck) this morning the crispness of the air. To save on electricity, I usually pull out the towels or thick things to dry on the porch. This morning was breezy. A pegmatite or feldspar rock that I keep on my patio table serves as a faithful anchor on the lighter things.

The leaves are starting to change by default because of the shorter days. The high country has peaked already. I didn't get up there to see them. I should have. My plot is at elevation 6762 ft. When I say 'high country' I mean 8 to 10,000 ft.
Yes, that is where I ultimately want to be. It has become quite noisy here. Traffic, airplane noise, as well as inundated with light pollution-I cannot stand LEDs! As I type, with the windows open, the roaring acceleration of those big pick-ups that everyone famously own. (roll my eyes) I constantly find myself having to refocus on how I have my little plot and how thankful I am for my little house. Which I really am!

My thoughts are with those that have lost so much in this recent hurricane Helene...all the way inland from TN to KY to Carolina's and, of course, FL. Now watching some else churning in the Gulf! Oh, it's been named- Hurricane Milton expected to go across central FL and spare the other southern states!

I'm thankful CO doesn't experience hurricanes (I've run from a couple in my lifetime), earthquakes, and the only risk of flood is if you live near a river. The major risk here is the fire risk! I'm eyeballing areas that are in the 'minor' risk in the state. Some compromises might have to be made.  Anyway, fun to think about it. One day. Lots to do before then!  🍂Happy Autumn!🍂
