Gem of a book! I've missed this one written by Margaret Wise Brown! It has simple repetitive prose with awesome photos to look at. The type of illustrations you want to slowly seek out and talk about along the way. It slows things down for children and encourages 'pondering'!
(We need more of this nowadays...love these old books.)
I had to chuckle at the 'cigars, soda' and 'cigarettes, soda' spelled out on side of the dog cafe and 'gun boat' on the boat page. {shutter in today's times} Yes, it's a 1974 children's book.
Can't wait to look it up in my collector's guide. I loosely collect these Little Golden Books!
